"Not all who wander are lost"
As a young child I discovered my love for books, reading and stories. Much my youth, I would immerse myself in the adventure and beauty of fantasy stories. I am Prix Gautney, a novelist and published author located in South-West Missouri. My writing is focused around animal fantasy and the journeys of the characters within.
From my youth I have always been fascinated by books and the stories they tell. Being able to open a book and become surrounded by its tales motivated me to become a published author. I am an active member of the Mid-South Writers Group along with several others. We have helped each other grow as writers and as people. Through them I have been able to participate and place in numerous writing competitions. Being apart of an organized writing group has catapulted me into the writing I do to this day.
I live on a small farm in southern Missouri with my two amazing children and an ever-changing number of cats, chickens, and vegetables. Though I enjoy writing Middle Grade/Young Adult Fantasy, I also love to write picture books. Every story is written longhand in spiral bound notebooks, and I later type them into my computer. I prefer the flow of the pen over the click of the keys and the mild onslaught of radiation from my laptop. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
